DESCRIPTION: Immerse yourself in an advanced clinical experience designed to engage students in the perioperative anesthetic care of patients. As a subintern, you will assume the role of a junior resident, with responsibilities that include evaluating patients preoperatively; devising a safe anesthetic plan; working with the resident and/or attending to prepare the operating room; administering anesthetic medications and performing appropriate procedures under the supervision of the attending; and assisting with management of patients in the postoperative anesthesia care unit.
