Discussion of research papers in the areas of networking and distributed systems. Topics covered include Internet fundamentals, distributed system fundamentals, network modeling and simulation, and scalable storage systems. Students conduct a small research project of their choice in small groups and present their results at the end of the quarter. Prerequisite: CS 144 or equivalent.
