TAPS 10

Intro to IDA: power, art, and practice (AFRICAAM 10, CSRE 10)

UNITS:1-5
GRADING:Letter (ABCD/NP)
LEVEL:Undergrad
GER:—

Throughout the quarter, we'll gather with scholars, artists, and organizers whose work moves us toward collective liberation. By reflecting on the Institute for Diversity in the Arts' legacy, and exploring movements for social transformation, past and present, we will explore how scholarship, creative practice, and organizing intertwine to shape our reality and change our material conditions. What political acts of imagination allow us to remember and recover submerged ways of organizing our communities? How can art and creative practice be rehearsals for enacting the futures we want? This course counts towards a concentration in Identity, Diversity, and Aesthetics. Students can complete TAPS 15 units of Institute for Diversity in the Arts courses to fulfill this subplan.
