Gastroenterology Clerkship

VISITING: Open to visitors. TYPE OF CLERKSHIP: Elective. DESCRIPTION: Involves participation in inpatient consultations and some outpatient clinics. Students are responsible for evaluating patients with major diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. They assume primary responsibility in both inpatient and outpatient settings and present cases regularly to the faculty attending physician. Daily inpatient rounds are made with the attending physician, fellow, and resident. Clinical conferences and journal clubs are held once weekly. PREREQUISITES: MED 300A.
