Quals Prep Writing Workshop

In this course, students will gain familiarity with the expectations for the Oceans Department PhD qualifying examination and begin workshopping their dissertation proposal. Three modules will engage students with hands-on development of a mind map for their proposal, a conceptual diagram, and a 1-page summary of the research proposal. The course will include interactive discussions, peer-review, and short presentations. By the end of Oceans OCEANS 303, students will have an understanding of the expectations for, and a framework for further development of, their dissertation proposal.
